Grants
Before applying for a grant please review the areas which the Foundation can fund:

  • Grant recipients must be charitable organizations as described in Section 501(C)(3) and 509
(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or 509(a)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • The Foundation can award grants to organizations which provide for the care, benefit,
support and preservation of seeing eye dogs or other animals trained to assist the sight
impaired or otherwise handicapped individuals (or that facilitate the use of such animals by
sight-impaired or otherwise handicapped individuals). We do not fund the therapeutic use of
    animals.

  • The Foundation can award grants that provide for the preservation, care and benefit of
wildlife and the world’s natural resources.

The following factors may significantly influence the Foundation's decision to grant funds:

  • The Foundation Trustees desire that the Foundation be a catalyst for change and therefore
prefer to fund projects that will assist an organization in a long-term change, such as
expanding capacity or undertaking a new area of service.
  • Requests for funds to support on-going program costs are given a lower priority.
  • Organizations that provide service animals at no cost to  sight-impaired or otherwise
physically handicapped individuals are generally given priority in funding over those that
    require a significant fee.
  • The Foundation does not generally provide funding for animal sanctuaries that are not
focused on wildlife rehabilitation and release.
  • Requests focused primarily on environmental/conservation education are not typically funded.
